Leadership and AI Workshop

On 8th August 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) at GLS University organized a workshop on “Leadership & Artificial Intelligence” at the GLS Auditorium. The session was delivered by Mr. Kuruva Venkataramana Murthy, TEDx speaker, author, and founder of One In The Universe.

Mr. Murthy highlighted the evolution of leadership and how AI is reshaping decision-making, efficiency, and emotional intelligence in modern organizations. Emphasizing the concept of human–AI synergy, he shared global case studies that demonstrated how technology can amplify creativity, empathy, and strategic vision.

An interactive Q&A on AI ethics, bias, and the balance between automation and human judgment kept participants deeply engaged. The key takeaway was clear: future leaders must use AI as a partner to enhance human potential while upholding ethical values.

 

The workshop received highly positive feedback, inspiring students to adapt to the AI-driven workplace with confidence and responsibility.

AI Powered Digital Skills Workshop

On 7th August 2025, 48 second- and third-year FOBA students participated in a two-hour hands-on workshop on “AI-Powered Digital Skills”. The session was led by Mr. Rohan Garg, IIM Calcutta alumnus, certified career counsellor, and visiting faculty at leading institutions such as Ahmedabad University, NIRMA University, and Adani Institute of Technology. With over 13 years of experience in training and education, Mr. Garg provided students with practical insights into leveraging AI tools for future career growth.


The workshop combined interactive learning with real-world applications, leaving participants better equipped to navigate emerging digital trends. Students appreciated Mr. Garg’s approachable teaching style, active engagement, and focus on practical demonstrations.


The session was widely regarded as a valuable and impactful learning experience, inspiring students to apply AI-driven digital skills in academic and professional contexts.

Marketing Workshop

The Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University, organized a workshop on “Essentials of STP Marketing” for SY and TY BBA (Regular & Hons.) students. Conducted by Mr. Maulik Mankand, Deputy General Manager, Häfele India Pvt. Ltd., the session provided practical insights into Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning (STP) as a core marketing strategy.

 

Through industry examples, case-based exercises, and interactive discussions, students explored how businesses identify market segments, select target audiences, and position their brands effectively in competitive markets. The workshop successfully bridged academic learning with real-world marketing practices, leaving participants with valuable knowledge to strengthen their professional outlook.

Workshop on Logistics

On 4th and 5th August 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA), GLS University, organized a two-day workshop on “Logistics System Design” for Semester 3 students of the Supply Chain and Logistics Management (Minor Specialization) program. The session was conducted by Dr. Subhash Desai, an esteemed academic and industry expert, who combined theory with practical case insights.

Across four hours, students explored key themes such as logistics reengineering, environmental assessment, time-based logistics, anticipatory vs. response-based strategies, alternative distribution approaches, operational arrangements, time-based control techniques, and integration theory. Real-world examples helped participants connect classroom learning with industry practices.

 

The workshop enhanced students’ understanding of strategic and operational logistics considerations, preparing them to apply concepts like lean inventory, just-in-time systems, and integrated supply chain design in professional settings.


The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging participation and critical thinking. Students appreciated the blend of academic depth and industry relevance, making the workshop a valuable step in their journey toward supply chain and logistics careers.

Research Methodology Workshop

The Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University, organized a two-day workshop on “From Title to Dissertation: Practical Research Skills for BBA Projects” for final-year students. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Kush Mehta, PhD scholar at MICA and former Research Associate at IIM Ahmedabad, who has received international recognition for his research.

The workshop guided students through research problem formulation, literature review, methodology design, and academic writing. With interactive discussions and practical examples, it equipped them with the clarity and confidence needed to successfully undertake their final-year dissertations.

Self Defence Workshop

The Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University, organized an empowering self-defence workshop designed to build strength, confidence, and awareness among young girls. The session was led by Sensei Jignesh Chauhan from Japan Shotokan Kanninjuku Karate Do India (Gujarat).


Through practical demonstrations, students were trained in effective techniques to protect themselves in real-life situations, including defence against grabs, hair pulls, back attacks, and head strikes. Beyond physical skills, the workshop emphasized the importance of presence of mind, confidence, and resilience in handling challenges.

Conflict Management Workshop

On 29th July 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration organized a hands-on workshop on “Conflict Management”, conducted by therapist and counsellor Ms. Hemali Acharya.

Through interactive role-plays, participants explored the roots of intra-personal, inter-personal, and social conflicts, while reflecting on their own typical reactions — Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn. Ms. Acharya highlighted how effective conflict management fosters stronger relationships, reduces emotional stress, and prepares individuals for personal and professional challenges.

The workshop emphasized that conflict management is not just a soft skill but a vital life skill, enabling individuals to lead balanced, harmonious lives both personally and professionally.

Marketing Mix Workshop

The Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University, organized a one-day workshop on “Marketing Mix Mastery” conducted by Mr. Hardik Sompura, Owner of Arroser Management. The session offered participants an in-depth understanding of the 4Ps of marketing—Product, Price, Place, and Promotion—highlighting their practical application in today’s competitive business environment.


Through case studies, industry examples, and interactive discussions, students explored how to balance marketing mix strategies effectively to address real-world business challenges. The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, making it a highly informative and enriching experience for all participants.

The Faculty of Business Administration hosted a two-day workshop on International Business with a focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for Third-Year Honours students. Conducted by CA Niyati Nawab, the sessions offered practical insights into global investment flows, regulatory frameworks, and the role of FDI in shaping emerging economies like India.


Through case studies and interactive discussions, students explored international trade policies and gained a deeper understanding of global business practices. The workshop proved to be both engaging and impactful, bridging theory with real-world application.

Career Counselling- Unconventional Career Workshops-Design + Strategy: Transforming Business with Design Thinking

FOBA organised a series of unconventional career workshops in January 2025. Dr. Pritesh Bhatia's session on "Design + Strategy: Transforming Business with Design Thinking" was conducted at GLS Auditorium on January 2nd, 2025. It was highly interactive and insightful. The session began with a stimulating brainstorming exercise, prompting participants to reflect on their aspirations, identify skill gaps, and explore the fundamental concepts of idea generation, design, innovation, invention, management, and design thinking. This engaging approach fostered critical thinking and encouraged participants to connect their personal goals with the transformative power of design in the business world.

Creative Writing Workshop – Script Writing

On 2nd August 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration at GLS University hosted an engaging workshop on “Creative Writing – Script Writing” for members of the Astitva Club, the University’s Theatre Club. The session was led by renowned theatre personality Mr. Rishabh Shukla, acclaimed for his work as a writer, director, and actor in both Hindi and Gujarati theatre.

Students explored core aspects of scriptwriting, including plot development, character building, and dialogue writing. Mr. Shukla demonstrated how compelling storylines and authentic characters sustain audience interest. An interactive dialogue-writing exercise further helped participants understand the balance between natural speech and dramatic impact.

The workshop also covered theme, tone, and setting, with Mr. Shukla encouraging students to draw inspiration from personal experiences and social observations. Throughout the session, participants actively shared ideas, asked questions, and received constructive feedback, making the experience highly interactive and collaborative.

Concluding the workshop, Mr. Shukla emphasized the dedication, discipline, and passion required in theatre and creative writing, inspiring students to practice consistently and engage critically with performances. The workshop was a resounding success, offering budding writers and performers both technical expertise and creative motivation, while giving them the rare opportunity to learn directly from a seasoned theatre artist.

Communication and Personality Development

A workshop on Communication Skills and Personality Development was organized by the Faculty of Business Administration for SEM II students with the objective of enhancing students’ interpersonal abilities, self-awareness, and overall professional readiness.


The workshop aimed to provide practical exposure to essential life and employability skills through interactive and activity-based learning.


The workshop covered key themes such as effective communication, emotional intelligence, verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and self-expression. The sessions were designed to be engaging and experiential, encouraging students to actively participate rather than passively listen. This practical approach helped students understand the real-life application of communication and personality development concepts.

Workshop on Vedic Maths

The Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA), GLS University, organized a two-day workshop on Vedic Maths for second-year (Hons) students on 18th and 19th August 2025. The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 685 students, making it one of the largest student-engagement initiatives of the semester.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Prashant Sugandh, Director of Ekoching and a seasoned education professional with over 11 years of experience. Having mentored more than 50,000 students across India and guided aspirants to leading institutes such as IIMs, XLRI, NLUs, and Symbiosis, Mr. Sugandh brought both expertise and energy to the session.

Students were introduced to the power of Vedic Maths as a tool for faster and smarter calculations, with applications extending to academics as well as competitive examinations. The workshop followed an interactive, hands-on approach, ensuring that every participant could grasp and practice the techniques in real time.

The workshop was a resounding success, equipping students with valuable mathematical skills and reinforcing FOBA’s commitment to providing holistic and practical learning experiences.

Brand Storytelling Workshop

The Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University, organized a workshop on “Brand Storytelling: Creating Meaningful Connections” for SY and TY BBA (Regular & Hons.) students. Led by Mr. Maulik Mankad, a seasoned professional in marketing and brand management, the workshop engaged 23 enthusiastic participants. The session highlighted the fundamentals, key elements, and strategic importance of brand storytelling, enriched with real-world case studies. Students actively participated in exercises to design and evaluate brand stories, gaining valuable insights into building consumer trust and loyalty. The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A, offering practical guidance and making the overall experience insightful and impactful.

Campus to Corporate

The Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA), in collaboration with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), organised the “Campus to Corporate” Series for Third-Year BBA students on 10 December 2025. Conducted by senior ISDC professionals, the five-hour workshop saw active participation from 43 students and aimed to bridge the gap between academics and corporate life. Sessions covered non-negotiable workplace skills, résumé building, interview preparation, and LinkedIn networking. Students were also introduced to emerging trends in analytics, leadership skills, agility, resilience, and effective time management. Overall, the programme significantly enhanced students’ industry readiness, professional awareness, and confidence for future corporate roles.

Start up journey from ideation to workshop

On 1st August 2025, the Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) at GLS University organized a workshop on “Startup Journey: From Ideation to Execution” for students specializing in Entrepreneurship. Led by Mr. Prashant Sugandh (Director, Ekoching) and Mr. Rohan Garg (Educational Counselor, Ekoching), the workshop combined practical insights with real-life case studies. Mr. Sugandh focused on the ideation stage, guiding students on identifying market gaps, validating ideas, and building viable business models. Mr. Garg highlighted the execution phase, covering team building, resource management, early-stage funding, customer acquisition, and the importance of adaptability in entrepreneurship. Key takeaways included the value of mentorship, networking, and incubator programs, along with practical tips on pitching and navigating startup challenges. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students clarified doubts on funding, risks, and scalability.

 

The workshop proved to be both inspiring and practical, bridging the gap between classroom learning and entrepreneurial practice. It empowered students with the tools, mindset, and confidence to pursue their startup dreams.

Personality Development Workshop

The BBA students of SY and TY ( Regular and Hons)participated in a Personality Development Workshop led by the renowned trainer, Beenoo Mukhi. The workshop focused on enhancing essential soft skills, including communication, confidence, and leadership abilities, crucial for professional success. The workshop was conducted on 9th September 2024

Mukhi engaged students with interactive activities, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in building a strong personal brand. Through group discussions, role-playing, and real-life scenarios, students learned how to present themselves effectively, handle stress, and work collaboratively in diverse teams. The session was highly insightful, leaving students motivated to apply these skills in both their academic and future professional endeavours.

Unconventional Career Options

Faculty of Business Administration, GLS University organised multiple workshops on the Unconventional Career Options. Eminent personalities like Dr. Khusbu Pandya, Ms. Gaurika Rathi, Mr. Dharmesh Shah, Mr. Prashant Shah and Ms. Kalgee Shah guided our students on many versatile topics. 

Dr. Khusbu Pandya, India’s 1st Social Media Doctorate, took an expert session on ‘Understanding careers in Digital Marketing’ on 3rd January 2024, and shared her extraordinary journey with the students.  

Mr. Prashant Shah’s expert session was conducted on 5th January 2024, on the ‘Career in Certified Financial Planning’.

 Ms. Gaurika Rathi delivered a session on ‘Career in Fashion’, on 10th January 2024. 

Mr. Dharmesh Shah conducted a session on 11th January 2024, on ‘Gen-Z’s road map to Health Insurance’. 

The Workshop session series were great addition in finding the career paths for the students. The purpose of these sessions was mainly exploring different careers as per their individual calling and space. Students had substantial learning and interactive sessions with all the distinguished personalities. The sessions fostered the students with supportive learning environment and making them aware of the new or unconventional options pertaining to their careers. The faculties demonstrated expertise, encouraged student engagement and made them understand that about having curiosity to learn new things and broaden their  minds for the real world. The sessions were quite informative, helpful and practical giving clarity, from where and how to start the journey. And preaching students to truly believe that nothing can substitute hard work and it’s the process and failures that will make this journey all worth it.

Research Methodology Workshop-2

The Research Methodology Workshop for semester 6 students was conducted on 3rd and 4th January 2024 by Dr Parag Shah and Dr. Raju Chaudhary from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. It was a very interesting experience for the students which helped them to gain insights as to how to analyse, interpret and apply the data that their group had collected via Google Forms. The students found the workshop instructors , to be very patient and articulate in terms of conceptual clarity . He explained every step for different tests like Descriptive Statistics, Paired t test, Unpaired t test, ANOVA, Correlation and Regression in great detail and repeated them twice for every student's convenience. Due to this workshop, the student now have the means and confidence to proceed to the next step of Research i.e. Data Analysis.

Stock Market Analysis  Technical Analysis Option and Derivative trading and Strategies workshops were  organised on 29th,30th,31st July and 1st August 2024 for the Semester 6 students of FOBA. The students had opted for Stock Market Operations as a subject. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Aashish Shah and Mr. Vishwa Gandhi, Management Trainers and education analysts.

CPR Workshop

A workshop on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) was organized by Sterling hospital at GLS University on 2nd January 2024. The instructors delivered the session in a simple and clear language such that the techniques could be understood well . The instructors expertise was evident, and their ability to address questions contributed to a comprehensive learning experience. Moreover, the session covered basic concepts and at the end the workshop ended with a brief hands-on practice. Overall, this workshop was highly informative and beneficial.

Creative Workshop Series- Day 2-13th July 2024

The Faculty of Business Administration organized a vibrant and engaging 2-day workshop titled "Creative Fiesta," aimed at unleashing the creative potential of their students. The workshop spanned over two days, offering a plethora of artistic and creative activities that were both educational and enjoyable.

The second day continued with more exciting workshops:

6.Nail Art: This session offered a fun and fashionable way for students to express their creativity through intricate nail designs.

7.Clay Modelling/Sculpting: Students molded clay into various shapes and sculptures, learning the basics of sculpting.

8.Plant in Kulhad: A unique activity where students planted greenery in traditional kulhads (clay cups), promoting sustainability and creativity.

9.Clay Mirror Decor: Participants decorated mirrors with clay, creating beautiful and functional pieces of art.

10.Chocolate Making: This delicious session taught students the art of making chocolates, from tempering to molding.

11.Personal Branding: This insightful session provided students with valuable tips on building and enhancing their personal brand.

The workshop concluded with participants showcasing their creations. The event received positive feedback from students, who appreciated the opportunity to explore new skills and express their creativity. The faculty plans to organize more such events in the future to foster creativity and holistic development among students.

Creative Workshop Series- Day 1-12th July 2024

The Faculty of Business Administration organized a vibrant and engaging 2-day workshop series titled "Creative Fiesta," aimed at unleashing the creative potential of their students. The workshop spanned over two days, offering a plethora of artistic and creative activities that were both educational and enjoyable.

The first day of the workshop kicked off with the following activities:

1.T-shirt Painting: Students explored their artistic skills by painting unique designs on T-shirts, guided by professional artists.

2.Resin Art: This session allowed students to create stunning resin art pieces, learning about the techniques and safety measures involved.

3.Lippan Art: A traditional Indian art form, Lippan art, was introduced, and students crafted intricate designs using clay and mirrors.

4.Mehendi: Students enjoyed creating beautiful mehendi designs, enhancing their knowledge of this traditional art form.

5.Tote Bag Painting: Students personalized their tote bags with creative designs, blending practicality with art.

IMS Workshop on GD

On 11th September 2024, IMS conducted an informative session on the nuances of Group Discussions (GD) for BBA students at the Faculty of Business Administration. The session, held at 1:00 pm in the auditorium, was designed to help students develop crucial GD skills that are essential for competitive exams and future career opportunities. Experts from IMS shared valuable insights on various types of GDs, including current affairs-based, opinion-based, and abstract topics. They explained how evaluators assess candidates based on communication skills.

Investment And Option Strategies- Workshops- 1st and 2nd Phase

A workshop in two phases on Investment and Option Stratergies was conducted for six days , for total 9 hours was organized on Investment and option strategies where sixty  students participated in the making of strategies using option Greeks. The advance strategies were taught and demonstrated included iron fly, iron condor, calendar and diagonal spread, advance butterfly etc. The Workshop was conducted by Prof Vishva Gandhi who gave detailed information to the students  who made the sessions interactive and interesting.

CWDC Financial Awareness Session

A financial Awareness programme was organized on 26th September 2023 from 3: 30 to 4 45 by BSE where the speaker Shri Mumukshu talked about financial planning, various investment options and why one should be investing. He also gave an insight about why people should be investing from early stages of life.

 

The students found the session very interesting and knowledge enhancing. The students really enjoyed the session.

Idea Generation Workshop - TY NRBBA

Mr. Anay Mashruwala ,Partner, Head Marketing & Quality Control at M/s. Venus Engineering Works conducted a workshop on  Ideation techniues for the TYBBA Batch of Entrepreneurship Specialization . He   took them through the process of The Exploring Problems - Discovering Ideas & Stretching Imagination - Consumers vs Producers - User Study - Wild Protos - MVPs - Product & Service Design - Finding or Developing Markets - Business Validation - Go to Market - Business Functions & Organization Structure - Team Building.  It was a practical handson workshop which led the students on a journey of self awareness and self exploration along with the business learning modules.

Dance Workshop

The Dance workshop was conducted by the dance enthusiast Rohan Barot., who has created masterworks of choreography and introduced his pupils to dance platforms like DID and Dance+, is currently in town and will visit our campus for this session.

In total 128 students participated in the workshop and the timings for the same were 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm for both the days.

Students enjoyed a lot about the learning process of the contemporary form of Dance and had a fun filled time.

The Artificial Intelligence Workshop for BBA students was conducted on  by 15th ,16th September 2023 Mr Bhavesh Mathur  from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm in two shifts. It was a very interesting experience for the students which helped them to gain insight regarding Business Analytics, Office automation tools etc. The topics like Business Analytics, Office automation tools, Emerging technologies, Microsoft office with AI integration, followed by lab exercise. Students found the workshop conductor to be a very patient and knowledgeable resource person. Over all the workshop was a huge success for the purpose it was being organised.

Unboot Workshop - SYBBA- Honors- Entrepreneurship Specialization

 Mr. Sneh Bhavsar, Managing Partner, Incubate conducted a workshop on entrepreneurship for aspiring and budding entrepreneurs. He   took them through the process of Ideation , imagination stretching , knowing your consumers, MPVP’s, Market development , business validation  and team building.  It was a practical hands on workshop which was attended by the SYBBA honors students who had selected Entrepreneurship and Family Business Management as their specialization.

Trading and stock market Essentials Workshop

A workshop on Stock trading and Stock market essentials was organized for six hours on three days 1st and  8th July and on 26th August. Mr. Amir Ali,Stock Trader and Analyst conducted the sessions. Students were given information about the basics of stock market, the psychology of investors and various trading patterns were shown to them. The visit to INX was also arranged on 6th of July as a part of the workshop.

Leadership and Design Thinking

A workshop was conducted by Mr. Suresh Yadav on the following topics for TY International Business specialization students Logistics sector in India and its share in GDP 12 verticals of logistics, Transportation cost sharing in logistics,  Mode of transport use in India, Few examples of role of commodity in selection of mode of transport, Cargo sharing as per mode of transportation and their reason for selecting different mode, Different Government’s initiative in logistic sectors e.g. Dedicatedfreight corridor, bharatmala, PM Gatishakti etc.Duration of the workshop was three hours and students got practical insight for it.

An workshop on international supply chain and logistics management was organised for us on

September 7, 2022. The workshop was very informative and full of real life examples and

scenarios. It was able to capture the entire process of the logistics and supply chain from the

beginning to the end, and at the same time a very detailed and web like structure linking all the

topics was followed. Particularly the part with the freight information was very well explained

with its relation to economy and businesses. The instructor was also very approachable and

maintained a very comfortable speed and language throughout the session. The instructor was

also kind enough to discuss additional topics related to the topics like government projects, their

impacts and information on various organisations. Lastly the main plus point was that the

instructor had a lot of experience in the field due to which he could share a lot of his experiences

and incidents form his career. Overall the session was very fun and informative.

Today’s workshop of Sales and Distribution started with the general introduction about Marketing and the question ‘What is Marketing?’ or ‘Why do we do marketing?’ The session was further carried forward with the discussion about what the distribution channel is how does it works. There we learnt about 4 different types of distribution channels i.e.: 1) Direct Selling 2) Sale through intermediaries 3) Dual Distribution 4) Reverse Logistics Channels. After that an activity about designing the different distribution channels for different business models was allotted by the mentor where all three rows were allotted with business model to each one of them. In the three models one was about the start up for women accessories, the other one was about international luxury car brand and the last one was well set up electronic business. This was all about the First Half of the workshop.

In the second half of the session, we had a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of the dual distribution along with the discussion upon its solutions. After we have been taught about the role of channel distribution manager, channel power, channel positions and all about the channel conflicts and the removal of errors from it. Lastly it was wrapped up with summarization of the whole session followed by the class attendance. 

It was an amazing workshop to attend which totally made our insights clear about the channel distribution system. Looking forward for more such events.

Creative Workshop - Makeup and Grooming

A workshop of two days , total 6 hours  was organized on Makeup and Grooming where 15 students participated. From basic and day-to-day skincare and makeup to adavance and different types of makeup looks were discussed and demonstrated. In this two day makeup and grooming workshop models were our students only. Before makeup skincare, minimal flawless base, choosing correct foundation, day look eye makeup, correct eye shade, setting makeup and after makeup skincare alongwith Q & A was taught on first day. Then dramatic eye makeup, lash application, skin correction, flawless HD base makeup, correct contour blush and highlighter application, setting makeup and different hairstyles to carry alongwith Q & A was demonstrated on day 2. The students noted each and every details shared by the artist in their notebooks. Overall it was a wonderful and successful workshop.

Dipti ma’am is amazing! Hands down, I think that she’s one of the best makeup artists I have witnessed. She is extremely knowledgeable. She not only taught us how to do flawless makeup but also introduced us to many makeup trends that are currently going on and which type of makeup or products would suit your face or skin type. Creative Workshop - Lippan Art

The creative workshop of Lippan Art for two days, total 6 hours was organized where 8 students participated in the making of beautiful and colorful art pieces. The kit was provided by the artist which included round cardboard sheet alongwith mud and different types of clay used for lippan art. On day 1 the base was prepared by drawing out the layout, design and sticking clay, applying base coat  and letting it dry.On  second day, painting on the art piece, decorating with mirror and giving finishing touch was completed. All the art pieces were unique and of different different colors. It turned out to be an amazing workshop. It was overall a great experience with fun and creative learning for students.

The workshop was a wonderful and learning experience. We were a small group due to which quality individual attention was given to all of us. We had great teacher too, she told us what to do, helped us choose the best designs, suggested colour combinations. It was a pleasure to attend the workshop with all the other members. Creative Workshop - Mandala Making

Mandala Making workshop conducted by Ms. Stuti Desai on  5 August 2022. .A unique workshop with a view to encourage creativity even among the non-artists, it was an interesting experience for students. In this workshop students learnt about how mandala can be used as a meditation exercise, different patterns of mandala. They eventually made their own mandala. Resource person shared the knowledge about how mandala can be used in different commercial products as well.

LinkedIn Workshop for Professional Growth

Ms Jasleen Sardar is working as a Marketing Manager and Partner with a Digital Fashion streetwear brand - Balloonfight customs. She is a Digital Marketing professional and a trainer. She conducted the live workshop on “LinkedIn Workshop for Professional Growth” on the online platform WebEx. The workshop was conducted over two days especially for the students from the Placement Cell 2022. The resource person emphasized the importance of having a LinkedIn profile because it helps build trust with employers and recruiters as they can see the recommendations and connections and evidence of where the candidate has added value. On the first day, she practically showed on the process of creating sound profiles, by giving various examples and showing some good profiles on LinkedIn. On the second day, students shared their own profiles and Ms Jasleen gave detailed feedback on each profile. Also, she guided students from Social Media Cell on creating and managing LinkedIn Page professionally. Overall, the session was very interactive and gave a glimpse of enhancing the professional profile.

Waste Management

A session on waste management was organized on 24th August 2022 for the Students of SEM 3 BBA in the subject Production Management. Students were given an insight about healing the environment, they were made aware about green surroundings and its importance. In the session, Dr. Sandya who is a technocrat and environmentalist and associated with treewalks involved the students in contemplating to see a greener and healthy city and our earth.

Dr. Sandya shared the various tips about waste management, managing the household waste, reducing the plastic waste and forming of compost, bio- enzymes and so on.

The students got an idea of how to reduce carbon foot prints and reduce the waste, reuse and recycle the waste. At the end of the session she organized a small quiz and distributed bio enzymes to the students who answered correctly

After the session many students promised to segregate the waste and also decided not to use plastic.

A workshop was organized on 22nd June 2021 titled "Insights into the Stock Market" for TY BBA students, conducted on an online platform WebEx. The Invited person for conducting the workshop is Mr. Mahesh Pandya, a veteran having more than 25 years of experience in the Bombay and Madras stock exchange. He shared his experience and immense knowledge with students and made them learn the techniques of the stock market in a very lucid manner. He practically involved the students in placing an order, and the concepts like BID and Ask, contract note, open, low, high, and close price, and the workability of the BSE website. Students thoroughly enjoyed the session and interacted with him extensively.

COMMUNICATION

Communication was conducted by Mrs. Hema Halvadia from 21st June to 24th June, conducted on an online platform WebEx. Good communication skills are something that keeps this world constantly moving forward. If there is no communication between people, there is no clarity or sense of harmony between people be that workspace or personal life. Thus, the topics covered were group discussion: sentence starters (statements), how to start and conclude the GD’s, Do’s & Don’t of GD. Dressing: dressing hacks, the importance of neutral tones, accessorize, etiquette & personal hygiene, communication (tone), introductions, and greetings. Body Language: posture & gesture for brand personality and impact of body language. A four-day-long workshop gave students an opportunity to learn the power of good communication.

The workshop was conducted in January 2020 at the GLS Auditorium. It was a very interactive session. The three-hour workshop was full of live corporate examples. The workshop threw some light on importance of relations with customers. The underlying message of workshop highlighted the importance of “know your customers” to attain customer retention. The expert Mr Sanjay Chakraborty gave some amazing insights by sharing his personal experience of CRM with examples like Bakeri Real Estates Group, AB Jewels, etc. Also, the key insights from Street vendors, Mumbai Dabbawalas to MNC’s Dettol and others, were quite helpful in gaining deep understanding of the subject. Overall, the workshop did achieve the objective of bringing industrial skillset in classroom.

Having organised the Digital Marketing Workshop in 2018, the decision to organise the Guerrilla Marketing Workshop by Make Intern was instantaneous. WORKSHOP ON PERFORMING ARTS (DRAMA)

Our institute FOBA-GLSBBA organised a workshop on Performing arts (Drama) in the month of July 2019 for the students of FYBBA who are offered Performing Arts (Drama) as an elective course in SEMESTER-I. Introduction of such course helps students to understand the importance of team work, communication and creativity apart from dramatics. The session was conducted by renowned artists Mr Mihir Upadhyay, Mr Karan Panchal and Mr Nandish.

To enhance the artistic skills a workshop on Painting and Poster Making was organised in the month of July 2019 by Ms Purvi Parmar. The workshop was really fruitful for the students, as it was regarding innovation in painting art as well as rules to be followed in painting competitions. The session also highlighted on basic skills of Drawing.

Industry Analysis Workshop was organized as a part of curriculum of Analytical Communication I in TYBBA Sem-V. The resource person Ms Rashmi Pant trained students on how to extract preliminary information of any industry from the Internet, feed the data in an excel sheet and analyze the data using Pivot Table & Chart.

SECURITY ANALYSIS AND PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

A workshop was conducted on stock market and technical and fundamental analysis by Mr. Ashish shah, a great investor and analyst. It was a 4 days’ workshop with a BSE visit. The workshop was basically for finance students.

The first day included all the basic details of stock market that how the companies issue IPO and what procedure they follow, also what are the factors which affect the share price of company. Then he also guided the students that when they should invest or what is the best time to invest and what are the factors they should see before investing.

On the second and third day of the workshop, Mr Ashish covered the fundamental and Technical analysis which includes the key ratios which determines the financial health of the company. So that the students have an idea about the goodwill of the company and its credit worthiness and its rank in the stock exchange.

Students studied about the use of price and volume charts to know the past stock price and volume information to predict future price movements. For this, Mr Shah also threw light on the candlestick chart and how to use it in the process. Then the last and most exciting day, the BSE visit was organized which had a two-hour session which was basically about depositories of India and all the basic details.

This workshop was not only restricted to stock market but also included the basic facts and fundamental knowledge which we should include in our daily life. All the sessions were very interactive and had many group and individual activities.

WORKSHOP ON IMPORT EXPORT PROCEDURE AND DOCUMENTATION

This workshop was conducted by Mrs. Avani Agrawal . The topic of the workshop was “Pre- shipment, Post-shipment and International Commercial Terms”. The main objective of this workshop was to aware International Business’ students about various procedures and documentations that are needed to export and import, to and from various countries. Along with this, the calculation of freight charges had also been taught in these two days of workshop.

WORKSHOP ON B-PLAN (IIT-MUMBAI)

Business Plan workshop conducted by Mr. Jigar Pandya and covered the following topics-difference between entrepreneur and a businessman, qualities which an entrepreneur must have, descriptive idea How to approach a customer in both the models of business-Business to Business and Business to Customer. The proper insight was provided regarding the entire entrepreneurial process. Students received Some referred material from Illuminate-IIT-Mumbai. The objectivity of the session was enhancing the entrepreneurial skills in the students. The workshop was coordinated by E-Cell of IIT Mumbai.
