FDP Certified Compression COLS Training

The session was led by Dr. Rasesh Diwan, M.D. (Anaesthesiology), who currently serves as the National Director – Training & Education, Indian Resuscitation Council Foundation (IRCF). The first half of the session focused on the theoretical foundation of cardiac arrest, importance of immediate response, and principles of COLS. In the second half, participants engaged in hands-on practice using mannequins, learning correct hand positioning, compression depth and rhythm, and emergency response steps. The session encouraged interactive learning, with faculty members actively participating and asking questions about real-life scenarios and emergency management.

FDP ON Secondary Data Sources Awareness of Trends in Technology

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) began with an insightful discussion on the significance of institutional ranking and the critical role of research in improving such rankings. Resource persons explained various types of research and publications, along with the importance of selecting appropriately ranked and rated journals. The programme highlighted the impact of institutional ranking on reputation, brand image, credibility, academic identity, funding opportunities, global recognition, and career advancement. A brief overview of major ranking and accreditation frameworks such as NIRF, NAAC, AASBE, Association of MBA, Shanghai Ranking, THE, and QS Rankings was provided. The session also covered research performance indexes including i10-index, h-index, and g-index, along with indexing databases and both paid and free platforms for accessing secondary research data.

FDP Pragya: Awareness of Trends in Technology

The Three days Faculty Development Programme provided a comprehensive overview of research methodology, focusing on topic selection, literature review, problem formulation, and effective paper structuring aligned with journal requirements. Participants explored various types of research papers and gained clarity on defining research contributions. The FDP emphasized academic writing best practices and introduced advanced AI tools to enhance research efficiency. Key areas such as scale development, sampling, theoretical framework, and hypothesis formulation were also covered. The hands-on sessions and expert guidance enabled participants to develop essential components of their research papers. Overall, the FDP significantly enriched the research skills of faculty members.

FDP Skill Enhancement Workshop

The Skill Enhancement Workshop held on 3rd July at GLS Seminar Hall, led by Ms. Rebecca Sudan, focused on improving communication skills, emotional well-being, and team bonding among educators. Through experiential activities such as hand mapping, expressive art therapy, and classroom simulations, participants explored behavioral communication, emotional awareness, and empathy. Ms. Sudan emphasized the importance of non-verbal cues and emotional clarity in both professional and personal settings. The workshop encouraged self-reflection, helping educators understand their communication patterns and emotional triggers. A key highlight was the focus on expressive communication and creating meaningful connections. The session blended theory with practice, fostering a safe, engaging, and introspective environment. Participants gained practical tools to enhance classroom communication and build more empathetic, student-centric interactions.

Faculty & Staff Grooming Workshop

GLS University organized a Faculty and Staff Grooming Workshop for the teaching staff of the Faculty of Business Administration on June 18, 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance the professional presence and communication skills of our esteemed faculty and staff members. It was a full-day event, running from 9 am to 5:30 pm, and was conducted by Ms. Sandhya Anantani, an Image Consultant, at the GLSU Container.

FDP on Data Analysis using Jamovi

The two-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Data Analysis using Jamovi, was held on September 13-14, 2024, was conducted by Dr. Parag Shah and Dr. Raju Chaudhari. The workshop provided comprehensive training on key statistical techniques including descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and regression analysis. Participants also gained insights into research methodology, enhancing their ability to apply these techniques effectively in their academic work. This training was particularly valuable for the faculty of FOBA, equipping them with practical skills to improve their data analysis capabilities and enrich their research and teaching methodologies. The workshop was from 11 to 4 pm for both the days

FDP on Business Transformation through Personal Transformation by Anand Pillai

A one day FDP was organized by FOBA, GLS University on 15th December 2023. The Resource person for the FDP was Mr. Anand Pillai, Mr. Pillai is the Managing Director of Leadership matters, a company focusing on intrapreneurial culture in organizations. He is also a leadership coach and organizational transformation Guru. Mr. Pillai used real-life examples to drive home his points . The programme focused on developing the self so that each individual could develop the capacity to transmit the transformation to others through action and become Thought Leaders in their domain.

FDP on Factor Analysis

FOBA believes in enhancing the research potential of the faculty members such that they contribute effectively to the world of research. FBA has been organsing FDPs on Quantitative Research. Furthering this initiative, an FDP on Factor Analysis using SPSS and AMOS was conducted by Dr. Hitesh Parmar Assistant Professor at Department of Business Management (MBA), Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. The topics covered were :


- Fundamentals of Factor Analysis.

- Exploratory Factor Analysis

- Confirmatory Factor Analysis

 

It was an interactive session and faculty members were able to solve their teething issues of their own research.

FDP on Factor Analysis and AMOS

Faculty of Business Administration under the umbrella of GLS university believes in bridging the gap between the Idea and execution. Research is a vast area to begin with. The university lay emphasis on quality research for the research enhancement of faculty members. To make them understand the process of Factor Analysis & AMOS, a workshop was organized on 14th & 17th July, 2023 from 11:00 am till 04:00 pm by Dr Hitesh Parmar (B.E., MBA, Ph.D.). The sessions were very interactive with gave good insights regarding the need for future studies and the reason behind it.

FDP-Workshop on Academic Writing

In continuation of the intiative to foster research acumen among faculty members, FOBA organised an FDP-Workshop on Academic Writing. The resource person for the day was Dr. Nirav Halvadiya, Assistant Professor, Management Department, Ganpat University.

The focus of the FDP was on the nuances of writing and publishing in management journals of repute such as Scopus and Web of Science. The FDP operated like a workshop wherein faculty members were made to work on developing research models and then use them to frame their research problems and research objectives.

This workshop was kept for the faculties of Faculty of Business Administration. FDP on Fundamental Aspects of Research- Phase 1

Faculty of Business Administration ( FOBA) organised a two-day FDP on Fundamental Aspects of Research on 25th and 26th November 2022. The expert invited for the event was Dr. Viral Bhatt, Director, SAL Institute of Management.

True to the title, the FDP focused on introducing fledgling and veteran faculty members to the basics of research. It began with identifying the research gap, developing research questions and undertaking a systematic literature review based on various sources such as books, journals, newspapers etc.

 

The FDP also touched on the basics of data analysis and the tools for analyzing data.

National Level Case Development Workshop

Faculty of Business Administration (GLSBBA) organized a National Level Online Workshop on Case Development. The workshop span was over two days with an intermittent gap of 15 days wherein on the first day, the resource person tutored the participants on how to write a case, and on the second day, the participants presented their cases which they had developed under the mentorship of the resource person Dr. N. M. K Bhatta in a fortnight’s time.

 

Dr. N. M. K Bhatta is Dean (Research) of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore.  Along with 42 years of experience in academics, sir has been trained on Qualitative Research Methods at the London School of Economics, Innovation Management from Steinbeis, Germany, and Case Method Teaching from Harvard Business School.

Sachdeva, Retired Academician. This FDP was kept for faculties and Ph.D. scholars of GLS University. The sessions were very interactive with gave good insights regarding the need for future studies and the reason behind it.

Learning Business Research Methods Using Microsoft Excel

Faculty of Business Administration (GLSBBA) organised two days’ Workshop on Learning Business Research Methods Using Microsoft Excel on 02/01/2019 & 03/01/2019. Dr Ravi Gor, Associate Professor, Gujarat University & Dr Himani Baxi, Assistant Professor, Ahmedabad University conducted this workshop. The workshop enlightened the participants on various types of research, how to identify their area of research and guided participants to undertake literature review to identify research gap. The experts made the session interactive by giving various groups the task to pitch their research statement.

Research Methodology Workshop

Our institute Faculty of Business Administration (GLSBBA) organised the Research Methodology Workshop on 27th & 28th July, 2019. The objective to conduct this workshop is to encourage research activity among the students. This workshop conducted for semester 5 students only so that it would be helpful them in their project work. This workshop was conducted two resource persons. One of them is Dr. Ravi Gor who is Associate Professor in Department of Mathematics at Gujarat University. The person is Dr. Himani Baxi who is Assistant Professor at Amrut Modi Schools of Management at Ahmedabad University. This two days’ workshop was attended by 57 students.

Workshop On “Google Apps In Education” 2017-18

This workshop is organized for the faculties of GLSBBA under research development cell of college. Prof. Kuntal Patel from Ahmedabad University, was invited to conduct this workshop. It was scheduled on 9th December, 2017 in staff room of college premises. It was started around at 2:00 p.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m. Topic of the session was Google Apps in Education. The major topics which are covered: Different Google Apps available for education, Develop the own website through google sites, uploading the content on the website and publish it.
