Seminar on Swarm Intelligence: The New Frontier in Problem-Solving

A technical seminar on “Swarm Intelligence: The New Frontier in Problem-Solving” was organized by the Faculty of Computer Applications and Information Technology (FCAIT), GLS University, and delivered by Prof. Anjali Bobra. The seminar introduced students to the principles of swarm intelligence, inspired by the collective behavior of social organisms, and explained key algorithms such as Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC). Prof. Bobra demonstrated applications in network optimization, robotics, scheduling, traffic management, and machine learning, highlighting both advantages like scalability and adaptability, and limitations such as computational costs. Interactive discussions and real-world examples engaged students, bridging theory with practice and motivating them to explore projects and research in this innovative AI domain.
