Seminar on Introduction to Apache Cassandra

A technical seminar on “Introduction to Apache Cassandra” was organized for fourth-year students by the Faculty of Computer Applications and Information Technology (FCAIT), GLS University, conducted by Prof. Nirav Suthar. The session introduced students to Cassandra’s architecture, key features, and applications as a distributed NoSQL database, covering topics like scalability, fault tolerance, peer-to-peer design, keyspaces, column families, replication strategies, and the Cassandra Query Language (CQL). Real-world examples from companies like Netflix, Instagram, and Uber highlighted its practical relevance. Interactive discussions, hands-on insights, and career guidance in big data and cloud technologies engaged students, bridging theory with practice and inspiring further exploration of distributed database systems.
