FCAIT Art and Craft Club, under the Faculty of Computer Applications and Information Technology (FCAIT), GLS University, organized a Tie and Dye Workshop conducted by Ms. Vishwa Sheth and Ms. Disha Joshi with the objective of introducing students to the traditional art of tie and dye and its relevance in contemporary design. The session began with an overview of the cultural significance of tie and dye, followed by demonstrations of techniques such as spiral, crumple, and stripe patterns, highlighting how different folding and tying methods create unique designs.
Students actively participated in the hands-on activity, experimenting with various color combinations and fabric patterns to create their own customized designs. The workshop concluded with a display of vibrant student creations, reflecting their creativity and enthusiasm. Overall, the session provided an engaging platform that blended art, culture, and self-expression while promoting appreciation for traditional crafts among students.
