Two-years full-time programme

The MBA program is conducted on a semester basis with four semesters spread over two academic years. The duration of each semester is around 16 weeks.

First Year: In first year, each semester has 8 courses. All 16 courses during these two years are foundation subjects to acquaint students in various areas like General Management, Marketing, Finance, Quantitative Techniques and HR.

Second Year: In second year, there are core as well as elective & concentration area subjects. Through Choice Based Credit System, students select their choice of subjects along with minimum two core subjects in each semester. The elective & concentration area subjects are from three different areas namely, Marketing, Finance and Human Resource.

The only differentiating factor for any B- school is its academic excellence. The department has always had a strong academic performance in university examinations. It grabbed 99% result in GLS University examination.

The department has persistently maintained a commendable placement record for all the years of its existence. Moreover, every year handful of management graduates with budding entrepreneur skills start their own venture or join family business successfully.

FOM recognizes the importance to instill corporate culture into the lives of the participants. The department explicitly emphasis on Industry-Academia Interactions as a part of continuous endeavors by setting up a Corporate Relations Cell. The dedicated cell organizes subject and content specific guest sessions on routine basis which indeed helps participants to relate and explore theoretical learning into practical implementation through the real-world experience of successful practitioners. It provides a vibrant platform to the management students to get insights from the vast pool of expertise in a gamut of all the promising areas and sectors wherein they strive to see their professional careers.

Experts from various sectors share their views about the industry, its macro and micro integrities, and give the entire overview of recent nuances in the corporate world. This learning enhancement initiative helps mold the participants, into proficient managers of the future.

Experts from various corporates such as Coca Cola, Adani, Intas Pharmaceuticals, Hearty Mart, Zydus Cadila, Fortune Landmark, Sales India, Torrent, Holiday Inn, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Tea Post, Vadilal, etc. visited the campus last year to share their insights & experiences with the students.

GLS University aims to develop graduates with competitive skills well matched to the global standards. It has developed active liaisons with many foreign universities with global repute. These academic tie-ups have ensured that both students and faculty members of these universities as well as our department can partner for Joint Research Opportunities and Exchange Programme. Several students visit Georgian University Ontario, Canada; California Baptist University, USA; The University of New Castle & Curtin University, Australia; Curtin University, Dubai; Synergy University, Russia; Luiss Business School, Italy; Leeds Beckett University, England and participate in student exchange programme for 2-4 weeks. They are exposed to innovative teaching methodologies and learn practical applications of these subjects. It becomes a great learning experience for them, interacting with international faculties and fellow students.

MBA programme aims to groom participants holistically. It strongly endorses this thought and hence apart from a strong academic rigor, it encourages students to participate into various events, competitions, sports and CSR activities hosted by reputed management institutes at state and national level. They are mentored by the faculties having the expertise in the domain of competition. This helps them to outshine than other management graduates in competitions that they participate & win several accolades.

The students are encouraged to participate and present their research output in various national & international conferences and seminars. FOM has been the one of the few departments in the state of Gujarat whose students’ research is well acclaimed and accepted in prominent and reputed institutions including IIM (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Bodhgaya, Tiruchirappalli), MICA, Nirma & many more.

Last year, 100+ research papers were published in various national and international journals by faculty members & students. Moreover, various accolades were achieved at various national & international institutes for research papers by faculty members & students.

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• The candidate must possess a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline.
• The candidate must have obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

The admission to the MBA programme is through CMAT examination followed by the centralized admission process through the Government of Gujarat appointed admission committee.
