GLS University proudly hosted the 2nd Convocation Ceremony of the GLS-UTSC Global Program on June 14, 2025, at its Ahmedabad campus. The grand event celebrated the academic milestones of students who are now poised to embark on the next chapter of their educational journey at UTS College, Australia — the international partner of this pioneering transnational education program.
Launched in 2023, the GLS-UTSC Global Program offers an innovative academic pathway in Business and Information Technology, wherein students complete their first year at GLS University and the remaining two years at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) College. The program is supported by in-house training for IELTS and PTE, equipping students with the linguistic and academic readiness required to thrive in global learning environments. It has quickly earned a reputation for excellence, producing globally competent graduates prepared for international opportunities.
The convocation ceremony commenced with an official declaration, followed by a warm welcome and keynote address by Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director and International Director of GLS University. She traced the growth and impact of the program and applauded the graduating students for their resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. “We launched a vision to create a truly global academic experience,” she said, “and today, we celebrate not just academic success but the strength of character these students have shown.”
Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the graduates. He emphasized that the GLS-UTSC program embodies the university’s commitment to nurturing globally aware professionals who exemplify the values of Indian education in international contexts.
Dr. Dharmesh Shah, Provost of GLS University, presented a detailed Progression Report, outlining the students’ academic accomplishments, active co-curricular involvement, and readiness for global transitions. He also extended appreciation to faculty members and academic mentors for their invaluable contributions to the program’s success.
A highlight of the event was the Special Convocation Address delivered by Ms. Morwenna Shahani, CEO of UTS College, Australia. She congratulated the graduating batch and urged them to embrace the international learning experience with confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong commitment to growth and excellence.
Degrees were conferred by university dignitaries amidst an atmosphere of pride and celebration. The event concluded with the national anthems of Australia and India, followed by the GLS Anthem — a symbolic tribute to global unity, institutional pride, and the transformative power of education.
As these bright minds prepare to continue their studies in Australia, GLS-UTSC stands tall as a beacon of transnational education in India, empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and values required to succeed as responsible and capable global citizens.
