Ahmedabad, May 29: GLS University proudly hosted the fourth chapter of the Gujarat Law Society’s centennial celebrations under the theme “100 Hearts for the Voiceless.” The initiative aimed to engage students, artists, and youth icons in fostering empathy and awareness about the welfare of stray animals through creative expression and interactive dialogue.
A major highlight of the event was the painting competition, “A Street, A Soul, A Story,” which attracted nearly 180 students from diverse disciplines. Participants explored the lives of stray animals, illustrating their struggles, resilience, and everyday realities through powerful visual storytelling. The competition also accommodated on-the-spot registrations, ensuring wider student involvement. Exceptional entries were recognized during the valedictory ceremony for their artistic innovation and emotional depth.
Adding a dynamic conversational element, the event featured an interactive session under Decoded @ GLS, the university’s flagship dialogue series. Actor Karan Tacker engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University. The session encouraged audience participation, with discussions covering personal experiences, societal perceptions, and the responsibilities of individuals toward animal welfare.
The event also included engaging segments such as “The Pawdcast,” “Sip and Spill,” and “Label Lab,” designed to stimulate dialogue, creativity, and student interaction. Through these sessions, attendees explored innovative ways to understand and support the lives of voiceless companions in their communities.
As part of its centennial celebrations, GLS University continues to emphasize the use of artistic and conversational platforms to raise awareness and foster empathy.
