Faculty of Performing Arts

The realm of performing arts is ever evolving and dynamic, exerting an invisible influence on every aspect of our world. A comprehensive examination of the performing arts necessitates an exploration of the interconnected manifestations of personal, collective, and cultural identities. The ancient scriptures of Indian philosophy have incorporated the concept of performance into our shared identity. The various classical dance forms, two separate streams of classical music, and the clear definition of Natya (theatre), along with the diverse folk, ritualistic, and regional presentations, all highlight the concept of Sangeetam as the fusion of Dance, Music, and Theatre, as defined in the Natyashatra.
