Beyond Classrooms: Immersive Beginnings at FOBA

Beyond Classrooms

“Experience is life’s greatest teacher—unfiltered, unforgettable, and far beyond what any classroom can offer,” remarked the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA), GLS University, while addressing first-year BBA students during the ongoing Orientation Programme.

The Dean’s Address set the tone for an immersive learning journey aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), emphasizing holistic development, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and real-world readiness.

Students engaged in a range of interactive activities including Team Building, Travel Buzz, Two Truths and a Lie, and Human Knot—each designed to build leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. The Orientation also featured thoughtfully curated excursions to Adalaj Ni Vav, the Heritage Walk, Riverfront, and Oxygen Park, Science City and Indroda park—offering a cultural and environmental immersion beyond the classroom.

The ‘Clubverse’ showcase introduced students to FOBA’s vibrant, student-led clubs—spaces that foster creativity, initiative, and experiential co-curricular learning.

A key highlight was ‘Samvaad’, FOBA’s flagship dialogue series. The session featured an inspiring lineup of speakers: Mr. Shyam Parekh, media educator and expert; Mr. Biswaroop Padhi, leadership consultant and strategic advisor; RJ Megha, popular radio personality; and Mr. Vatsal Shah, entrepreneur and youth mentor. Together, they offered powerful perspectives on values, purpose, creativity, and navigating life with authenticity and courage.

The programme concluded with an engaging Alumni Interaction and Workshops: Legends Lounge where accomplished FOBA graduates shared their journeys, reinforcing the importance of curiosity, resilience, and lifelong learning.
