GLS FOC hosted an insightful session on KAIZEN at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA). The session was conducted by Renowned Expert. The session was focused on the Japanese management technique, KAIZEN, which means "change for good" and emphasizes continuous improvement and discipline in corporate practices. This method, rooted in Japan's post-World War II recovery, was popularized by Masaaki Imai. In the session essence of KAIZEN through practical examples, such as the story of the "KAIZEN-CROW," which illustrated the importance of creativity and smart work. He highlighted that KAIZEN is applicable universally—everyone, everywhere, every day can implement it. By demonstrating with a student's wallet, it was showcased how small, incremental changes are more effective than drastic ones. The session covered two types of KAIZEN: TEIAN, focusing on employee suggestions, and GEMBA, improving front-line processes. He emphasized that organizing one’s surroundings can lead to a clearer mindset and better productivity. Students of the Faculty of Commerce engaged actively, with practical demonstrations reinforcing the importance of small steps for significant changes. His analogy of weight loss illustrated that consistent, small efforts lead to substantial results over time. More than 150 students participated in the workshop enthusiastically.
