The Speakers Forum - Speak to Lead at GLS University, Faculty of Commerce successfully organized MANTHAN, an Elocution and Extempore Competition, on 18th December 2025 for B.com & Finetch students. Conducted in Hindi, Gujarati, and English, the event provided an energetic platform for students to showcase their communication skills, confidence, and presence of mind.
The competition witnessed a large number of enthusiastic participants, who spoke on diverse and thought provoking topics like Small Habits, Big Results, The Power of Positive Thinking, AI and the Future of Jobs for Young People, Social Media: Tool for Learning or Distraction? & Overcoming Fear and Failure Gracefully. Their performances reflected strong content, clarity of expression, and impressive oratory skills, making the event lively and engaging.
The event was judged by Dr. Hirva Popat, Assistant Professor of English Literature and Communication at GLS University. She was highly impressed by the participants’ confidence and originality and appreciated the smooth conduct and vibrant atmosphere of the event. Dr. Popat also offered constructive feedback, motivating students to further enhance their communication abilities.
In the Elocution Competition, Ashwin Kumar Soni and Divya Shukla secured the first position, Hoshvan Ginwala, Prisha Doshi, and Satyam Vishwakarma shared the second position, while Dev Sameer Vyas, Ishita Udani, and Vanshika Pancholi secured the third position.
In the Extempore Competition, Hoshvan Ginwala and Prisha Doshi jointly secured the first position, Divya Shukla secured the second position, and Ananya Sharma secured the third position.
The winners were warmly applauded for their exceptional performances, while every participant was acknowledged and appreciated for their enthusiasm, dedication, and commendable efforts. The encouragement and recognition given to all students created a motivating atmosphere that celebrated participation as much as achievement.
The event concluded on a highly positive and uplifting note, inspiring students to continue honing their skills, actively take part in such platforms, and strive for personal growth and excellence. Overall, MANTHAN proved to be a successful and inspiring initiative, strongly reflecting GLS FOC’s commitment to nurturing confident, articulate, and well-rounded young individuals, and to providing meaningful opportunities for students to express themselves and grow beyond the classroom. The Competition was coordinated by Dr. Bhumika Ansodaria and Dr. Gitanjali Rampal.
