Ahmedabad, October 2026: GLS University successfully organised the fifth edition of GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 from September 25 to 27, 2026, bringing together over 1,000 young delegates across 11 dynamic committees for three days of engaging discussions, real-world simulations, creative exploration and leadership development.
Organised under the visionary leadership of Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President, GLS University, the event reflected the University's commitment to nurturing future-ready individuals through innovative and experiential learning opportunities. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director, GLS University, played a significant role in encouraging an academic environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, innovation and the holistic development of students.
Going beyond the traditional Model United Nations format, GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 offered participants an opportunity to experience the functioning of diverse institutions, including parliamentary bodies, international organisations, corporate boardrooms, judicial forums and media platforms.
The event featured 11 committees: Lok Sabha, Gujarat Legislative Assembly, AIPPM, UNGA DISEC, UNHRC, Dalal Street, Young CEO, International Press, Open Design Dimension, The Courtroom and ECOSOC. Each committee provided a unique platform for participants to strengthen their critical thinking, diplomatic communication, negotiation, decision-making, teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
A major highlight of IGNITOR MUN 5.0 was the introduction of two specially curated experiential workshops — BrainBot and Spotlight.
BrainBot, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Prompt Engineering, introduced participants to emerging technological developments and encouraged them to explore the practical applications of AI in creativity, innovation and problem-solving.
Spotlight, designed around creative expression and performance, provided students with opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills, collaboration and self-expression through interactive experiences.
Together, these workshops enriched the event by integrating technology, creativity and practical learning into the conventional MUN experience.
With a prize pool of ₹3.5 lakh, IGNITOR MUN 5.0 combined healthy competition with meaningful learning, encouraging participants to challenge their perspectives, demonstrate leadership and discover their individual strengths.
The successful completion of GLS IGNITOR MUN 5.0 reinforced GLS University's commitment to providing transformative educational experiences beyond conventional classroom learning. The initiative highlighted the importance of preparing young individuals with the knowledge, confidence, creativity, adaptability and leadership skills required to thrive in an evolving global environment.
