GLS-FOC organized STATSPARX 2025 under the auspice of STATSTORM – The Statistics Club to mark the 19th National Statistics Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan awardee Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis, widely regarded as the Father of Modern Statistics in India. This year’s celebration embraced the theme “75 Years of National Sample Survey”, emphasizing the pivotal role of data and surveys in national planning and development. The event aimed to inspire students by highlighting the relevance of statistics in research, policymaking, and socio-economic progress, while fostering a spirit of analytical thinking and logical precision. As part of this celebration, two intellectually engaging competitions: RUBITRIX and SUDONIX served as the highlights of STATSPARX 2025. RUBITRIX offered a unique blend of Rubik’s Cube solving and matrix mathematics, encouraging participants to interpret cube patterns and apply mathematical reasoning. With multiple rounds designed to assess both speed and accuracy, the event proved to be a rigorous test of spatial intelligence and conceptual understanding. In contrast, SUDONIX brought the classic Sudoku puzzle into a competitive format that tested participants’ speed, precision and logical thinking. Both events attracted enthusiastic participation and showcased the sharp analytical skills of the students. Winners of RUBITRIX were Pratham Varma, Milan Thakkar and Vinay Bohra, while Gunn Ranmal Lunkad, Priya Badlani and Vinay Bohra emerged victorious in SUDONIX. The successful execution of STATSPARX 2025 was led by Dr. Devyani Chatterji and Dr. Ankit Bhojak.
