Environment Law Clinic, Faculty of Law, GLS University, is dedicated to advancing legal research in environmental law, to protect and serve nature through knowledge of the law.In recent years, India has witnessed disastrous effects of the environment, considering the twin factors, the Faculty of Law has created an Environmental Law Clinic which is purely devoted to law and environmental issues and their implementation. The clinic is aimed at integrating the local, regional, national, and environmental and community organizations and working together to solve critical environmental challenges.
Environmental Law Clinic aims to provide a platform for study, research, capacity building and consultation to all the stakeholders including the grass root people, industries and administrative authorities. The objective of the Clinic is to cure the environmental problems and act as an instrument for capacity building, promoting legal environmental awareness, encouraging research related to the environment, initiating training programmes related to the environment, analysing laws and policies and their implementation.
The mission is to achieve excellence in legal research regarding environmental law. We aspireto train students to serve nature and to make citizens aware regarding substantial development and to protect nature and to give shape to our vision and mission, the Faculty of Law, GLS University signed MoU with Gujarat Pollution Control Board, a The statutory body that has been over the years entrusted with the Central Acts and relevant Rules for pollution control, in aimed at developing all-round capabilities to protect the environment by effective law enforcement and by adopting best environmental management practicesto keep the State on the course of sustainable development.
The objective is to generate awareness, educate citizens and create values in society and to promote sustainable development and conduct research and training for the protection and promotion of public interest, environmental justice. It is important to set up information, resource, environment law, and justice centre and to help the victims of pollution and environmental degradation to seek and obtain social-environmental justice.
There is a monthly publication of NewsLetter – “Eco Buzz- A Buzz to Green Future” which includes articles, write-ups and recent events related to environmental laws.
