Divya Shukla, a Semester 4 student of the Faculty of Commerce, GLS University, showcased her exceptional public speaking skills by securing the 4th Runner-Up position in the prestigious Times of India Speaking Contest held on 24th March 2025. The event, designed to promote communication, leadership, and critical thinking among college students, featured over 180 participants from various institutions across Ahmedabad. In a challenging extempore format, each participant was required to draw a random topic and deliver a 3-minute impromptu speech, testing their ability to think quickly and articulate ideas clearly. Divya impressed the judges with her clarity of thought, confident delivery, and ability to construct logical arguments on the spot. Her outstanding performance earned her a place in the top five along with a cash prize of ₹1,000. This accomplishment highlights her strength in communication, quick thinking, and stage presence. Her growth through the contest was further enhanced by the valuable guidance of her mentors, which played a key role in helping her prepare and perform with excellence.
