Preamble:
Research is an integral component of higher education. Acknowledging this fact, Gujarat Law Society, the sponsoring body of GLS University, established the GLS Centre for Research and Development (GLSCRD). This was prior to the establishment of GLS University. With the coming into being of the GLS University, GLSCRD has become a part of the University. GLSCRD has taken several initiatives to promote research and providing training facilities to the faculty members of the University. This has helped improve the research profile of the University.
GLSCRD has prepared a document on Research Policy and Support to facilitate research, which has proposed a number of strategies to promote research among faculty members and students of the University.
Vision and Mission
The vision of GLSCRD Research & Development Centre is to promote quality-based research, expand knowledge, develop values and provide an environment conducive for developing a healthy research culture in the University.The vision is to build a vibrant research culture at GLS University by assisting and enhancing the research process by faculty members from different disciplines.
GLSCRD arranges to provide the necessary skills and professional service to the faculty members, scholars and students, communicates the opportunities for research available to all concerned.
GLSCRD facilitates “Faculty Capacity Building”. By this, what is intended is to make efforts to improve the abilities, skill and expertise of educators/faculty members of the University. This can be achieved by engaging faculty in research, undertaking studies and academic activities in specific areas and to encourage research collaboration among disciplines, faculty and schools.

Organisational Structure

Major Functions & Responsibilities
- To create a conducive research environment by creating focused research groups at different faculties.
- To co-ordinate research activities of the University.
- To assist in organising seminars/conferences and research paper competitions among faculty for promoting research culture.
- To carry out need assessment for training at the faculties of the University.
- To hold workshops, training programmes, faculty development programmes on various aspects of research and the teaching/learning process.

- Training and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs)
- Implementation of various Schemes for Encouraging Faculty Members to undertake Research
- Assistance to Faculty Members in their research work/Ph.D./Research Projects
- Providing Assistance in conduct of Seminars/Conferences/NAAC
- Preparation of Course Curriculum for various courses of GLS University
